Signal Lost

A short radar game about uncertain evidence. Nine contacts, a recharging scan battery, and one question: what are you actually looking at?

Compare movement and return profiles, then decide how much you trust your answer. Play a three-minute shift or take your time in practice mode.

How to play
  1. Select a numbered contact. Compare its track and three return profiles with the reference cards below.
  2. A focused scan costs 2 power and reduces noise, up to twice per contact. Changing band costs 1 power and changes the return.
  3. Choose a class and confidence, then file your report. Reports are final. Leave a contact unresolved if the evidence is weak.

You start with 12 power. It recharges by 1 every 10 seconds of game time, up to 12. Recharge stops while paused.

Nine contacts arrive over three minutes. A contact leaves after at most 44 seconds. Passive readings refresh every four seconds.

Correct: tentative +4, likely +7, certain +10. Wrong: −2, −6, −14. Unresolved: 0. A contact lost without a report: −3.

Pause at any time. Untimed practice advances only when you press “Wait 4 seconds”. Switching tabs pauses a timed shift.

Compare the evidence. A confident guess is still a guess.

Reference library / band A

Typical clean returns, not exact templates. Real contacts vary and arrive with noise. All plots use the same 0–100% relative-strength scale.

Echo shape runs from near to far within the return. Frequency runs low to high. Pulse history runs from earlier to later.

Aircraft

A steady track, sometimes with a gentle turn. A concentrated echo and narrow frequency band. Pulse strength stays fairly steady.

Birds

A wavering track that can still look quite direct. Several nearby echo peaks. A spread of frequencies and rhythmic changes in pulse strength.

Weather

Slow drift, with some local wandering. A broad echo and diffuse frequencies. Pulse strength changes gradually.

Sensor echo

May jump or hover, but can briefly mimic a real track. Separated sharp peaks and a narrow frequency spike. Pulse strength cuts in and out.
